Fans of the Destiny 2 franchise have launched a major campaign demanding that Bungie begin development of Destiny 3. The petition, which urges Sony to give the project the “green light,” has already collected more than 170,000 signatures, and the number continues to grow rapidly.
The petition campaign emerged as a reaction to reports that Destiny 2 will no longer receive large-scale content expansions. Instead, Bungie has shifted its priorities toward promoting its upcoming project, Marathon.
According to journalist Paul Tassi and sources within Bungie, the ratio of Marathon players between Steam and consoles during the debut week was approximately 2:1, indicating a total peak concurrent player count of around 130,000–150,000 users. As a result, the number of signatures demanding the creation of Destiny 3 has officially surpassed the peak launch player count of the studio’s new flagship title.
As a reminder, Blizzard Entertainment recently announced the new Neon Junction map for Overwatch.
