The Fnatic organization has decided on its head coach for the 2027 VCT EMEA season. Kyrylo "ANGE1" Karasov will begin a new chapter in the team's history. In this role, he will replace Andrey "Engh" Sholokhov, who is leaving the squad following a brief and unsuccessful tenure that began ahead of VCT EMEA Stage 2 2026.
This will be ANGE1's second year in a coaching role. His debut coaching season with NAVI was accompanied by a series of major challenges: visa issues, constant roster changes, and a drop in player form. Due to inconsistent results, NAVI failed to reach the playoffs in either Stage 1 or Stage 2. Following this, the Ukrainian organization allowed all players and the coach, who had represented the club since 2023, to explore offers from other teams.
At Fnatic, the new coach faces the task of a massive rebuild. The multiple-time EMEA champions endured one of the worst seasons in their competitive history, failing to qualify for any international tournaments for the first time.
The roster rebuilding process has already begun. According to sources, a player exchange has taken place between Fnatic and Gentle Mates:
- Emir "Alfajer" Beder is leaving Fnatic to join Gentle Mates, marking the end of an era for the team.
- Moving in the opposite direction, Martin "marteen" Pátek and Patrik "Minny" Hušek are joining the Fnatic roster.
ANGE1's primary objective will now be to shape the revamped squad and lead Fnatic back to its former leadership positions in the upcoming season.
