PUBG Mobile Global Open 2026 Season 1 kicks off today, marking the first major PUBG Mobile tournament of the season. Ukrainian organization Boars Gaming will be among the participants. Ahead of the event, Players spoke with the team’s coach, Dmytro "Bamb1ni" Kuzmenko.
How would you assess the team's preparation for the tournament? What were your main areas of focus?
We had enough time to prepare for the main event compared to some other regions. Naturally, our main focus was on playing our own game because the stages here are extremely short.
Usually, these stages last two or three days, but here it's only one day. Because of that, the type of adaptation I normally prefer simply won't be possible. Our priority was to strengthen our own gameplay first and foremost.
We have six maps and six contests. That means on every map, we need to be fully in the game from the very beginning. We'll have to defend our drop spots. Of course, things can change and some contests may not happen, but we always prepare for the scenario where we need to be active from the first second until the very last.
What would you consider the minimum goal for the team at this tournament?
Let's separate it into two categories: the minimum goal and achieving our full objectives.
The minimum goal is reaching the finals. Otherwise, there's no point in coming here if you're not aiming for a spot among the top 16 teams out of 32.
If we're talking about achieving our objectives, we want to finish fourth place or higher. Those positions would open the door for us to qualify for future Tier-S tournaments.
Who do you think will be Boars Gaming's most dangerous opponents at this event?
As I mentioned before, we have six contests.
Overall, looking at the entire tournament, I'd immediately highlight Alpha7 and Aurora. These are the two teams that stand out the most, and they genuinely look a level above everyone else.
I'd also mention eArena, Horaa, Team Flash, and Pandum. I consider them our main rivals at this tournament because those are the teams we're most likely to battle against, both theoretically and practically, from the very first moments of the game.
Do you have a message for Boars fans?
First of all, we'd like to thank all of our supporters. We read the comments, we see them, and we hear you. We're here to show our best possible performance. Even considering the extreme format of this tournament—when people are used to Global events lasting two weeks, while this entire event will be completed in just one week—we're ready to give it our all.
So support us and tune in to the broadcast. The tournament starts at 14:00 Kyiv time. Don't miss it. Go-Go Boars! Thank you for your support!
