Bethesda Insider Shares Possible Release Timeline for Fallout Remasters and The Elder Scrolls 6

Xbox Game Studios insider Jez Corden has shared fresh details about Bethesda’s upcoming projects, including The Elder Scrolls 6 and the rumored remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. According to him, TES 6 may launch between the two Fallout remasters, though fans may need to wait longer than expected.

June 11, 2026 will mark eight years since The Elder Scrolls 6 was officially announced. Since then, Bethesda has barely shown the game, leading to growing frustration within the community. The studio previously confirmed that full production on TES 6 only began after Starfield launched in 2023.

Rumors about Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas remasters have also circulated for years. Insider reports and leaked Microsoft documents from 2023 suggested that a Fallout 3 remaster was in development, although neither project has been officially revealed yet.

During a recent episode of The Xbox Two Podcast, Jez Corden said the Fallout remasters are “probably a little bit further off than people think.” He added that he does not expect either project to release before 2027. Based on his estimates, Fallout 3 Remaster is the most likely candidate for a 2027 launch, while Fallout: New Vegas Remaster could arrive much later.

Speaking about The Elder Scrolls 6, Corden described the game as still being “quite far away” from completion. He believes the RPG will likely launch one or two years after the first Fallout remaster, placing its release window somewhere in 2028 or 2029.

His comments line up with recent statements from Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard. In a March 2026 interview, Howard jokingly told fans to “pretend TES 6 wasn’t announced yet,” implying the game is still far from ready for a full showcase.

Based on Corden’s estimates, Bethesda’s release roadmap could look like this:

Corden stressed that these are not direct leaks, but educated guesses based on information he has heard regarding Bethesda’s current projects. Previous reports also suggested that the remasters may be handled externally by Virtuos, the studio linked to Oblivion Remastered.
