The Polish studio Bloober Team has concluded its mysterious countdown, which began at midnight on January 1, with a special presentation. The event marked the 10th anniversary of the psychological horror series Layers of Fear, renowned for its refined aesthetics and focus on the mental struggles of creative individuals, particularly painters.
The studio officially announced Layers of Fear 3. So far, only a live action teaser styled as a retro recording has been shown. The plot details, release window, and platforms have not yet been revealed, but the strong emphasis on a painting suggests that an artist will once again be at the center of the story.
Studio head Piotr Babieno подчеркнув, що the Layers of Fear series played a crucial role in shaping Bloober Team and defining its creative identity, and that the third entry will be not just a sequel but a natural evolution of the franchise.
Creative director Mateusz Lenart added that Layers of Fear 3 will once again show «how thin the line is between genius and madness».
In addition, Bloober Team announced vinyl releases featuring soundtracks from various Layers of Fear games, as well as a book series based on the franchise. The first book is scheduled to be released in late 2026.
It is also worth noting that Bloober Team has built a strong reputation in the horror genre. In 2024, the studio released a highly praised remake of Silent Hill 2, followed in 2025 by the equally notable Cronos: The New Dawn.
