Chinese technology company ByteDance has agreed to sell its gaming division Moonton Games to investment company Savvy Games Group, which is owned by the Saudi Arabian government. The deal is valued at more than $6 billion, according to Bloomberg.
This is significantly higher than the $4 billion ByteDance paid for the studio when it acquired it in 2021.
According to an internal letter from Moonton CEO Zhang Yunfan, obtained by Bloomberg, the deal is expected to close soon. Zhang and his current management team will remain in their positions to ensure stable operations for the company’s more than 2,000 employees.
Moonton is based in Shanghai and is best known as the developer of the hit multiplayer mobile game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
Reminder: B8 have been eliminated from the tournament, while NAVI and Aurora advanced to the BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026 playoffs.
