Valve has announced an update to the active tournament map pool in CS2. Cache will replace Overpass immediately after the end of the current Premier season, which is scheduled to conclude on July 6.
Cache returns to the competitive pool after a seven-year absence. The map was removed in 2019 in favor of Vertigo. It was later completely removed from Counter-Strike, and in 2025, its creator, Shawn "FMPONE" Snelling, unveiled a major remake. Valve acquired the rights to the updated version and added it to the game in April this year.
Meanwhile, Overpass is leaving the competitive scene after spending just one year in the active pool. At the recent IEM Cologne Major, the map was played 13 times during Stage 3 and the playoffs, tying with Nuke for fourth place in terms of popularity.
New Active Map Pool:
- Dust2
- Mirage
- Inferno
- Nuke
- Ancient
- Anubis
- Cache
As a reminder, KRIMZ recently became a new player for EYEBALLERS.
