Starting on July 7, the game will no longer launch through the unified Call of Duty HQ app and will instead be available as a separate download. The announcement was made via the official Call of Duty Updates X account.
Call of Duty HQ launched in November 2023. At the time, Activision described it as the "front door" to the franchise on PC and consoles, designed to bring all modern Call of Duty titles together under a single launcher.
The decision to separate Black Ops 6 has been met with a largely positive response on social media. It has also sparked speculation about the future of Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II ports. Players believe that removing Black Ops 6 from Call of Duty HQ could be intended to make room for these classic titles within the platform.
