Industry insider Dusk Golem revealed that Capcom has already started working on a Resident Evil 1 Remake. The project is currently in its very early stages, meaning the release could be 4 to 7 years away.
According to the source, «I’m aware that more recently full production on a RE:1 Remake has gone underway (though years out time of writing)».
«RE:1 is just recently entering development, so it’s likely anywhere from 4–7 years out from releasing, presuming it comes out at all since it’s in early development & RE games get scrapped all the time», — added Dusk Golem.
Resident Evil 1 originally launched in 1996 and was previously remade for the GameCube in 2002, which enhanced the classic experience. Fans are eagerly awaiting a new version, especially with Capcom’s current RE Engine.
