Capcom has released updated player statistics nine days after the launch of Resident Evil Requiem. The numbers confirm the huge interest in the new horror title. Within just a few days, the game sold more than 5 million copies, setting a record in the franchise’s 30-year history.
According to Capcom, the game has already been completed more than eight million times in total. Interestingly, 56% of players received the bad ending, which does not include a battle with the final boss. Altogether, players have spent 11,173 years, 76 days, 17 hours, 56 minutes, and 1 second in the game. On average, a first playthrough takes about 16 hours and 40 minutes.
The characters Leon and Grace have died a combined 157 million times. Out of these, 3.5 million deaths were caused by the gruesome corpse grinder located in the basement of Rhodes Hill Hospital.
Using an axe, Leon has killed 1.9 billion zombies. The most popular firearm turned out to be the pistol «Crocodile Tears», which has been used by nearly three million players.
Grace has crafted more than one billion items from metal scraps. In the classic mode, players used 50 million ink ribbons to save their progress while playing as her.
In total, players eliminated 3.7 billion undead over the first nine days, while 345 million zombies managed to mutate into the so-called «bubbleheads». One particularly memorable enemy, the white-clad zombie singer, has unleashed her terrifying scream 68 million times.
It is worth noting that the statistics are updated in real time, meaning the numbers quickly change. This also highlights the strong and ongoing interest in the game.
