Legendary martial artist and actor Chuck Norris has passed away at the age of 86. He died Thursday morning in Hawaii, shortly after reports appeared about his sudden hospitalization due to a medical emergency.
The news was confirmed by Norris’s family in an official statement: “With heavy hearts, our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. To the world he was a symbol of strength and mastery, but to us he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and the heart of our family.”
Chuck Norris became a global icon thanks to his role in the TV series Walker, Texas Ranger, as well as numerous action movies, including The Way of the Dragon with Bruce Lee, The Delta Force, and Missing in Action. His name later became synonymous with invincibility and inspired countless internet memes known as “Chuck Norris facts.”
