Pearl Abyss has revealed the first major expansion for Crimson Desert, titled Charting the Unknown. The DLC was announced during Sony's State of Play presentation.
The expansion will continue Kliff's story after the events of the main campaign. Together with Oongka and Damiane, he will embark on a new journey across the unexplored parts of Pywel.
Charting the Unknown will add a variety of new activities and features, including sea travel, underwater diving, base building and customization, cooking, and romantic relationships. The expansion will also introduce new mechanical enemies, including dragon, squid, and crab-like machines equipped with lasers.
The trailer offers plenty of unexpected moments. Kliff can build and furnish a house, propose to a witch, become a pirate, ride a dragon, explore the ocean in diving gear, and even take control of a massive metal vessel. The story also appears to involve a mysterious rift in space and time, potentially explaining the unusual combination of medieval cities, steampunk technology, galleons, and robots.
«Reclaim power and reach beyond, into the unknown», the expansion's synopsis reads.
Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown launches on October 15. Early 20th-century-style diving equipment will be available as a pre-order bonus.
