Crimson Desert surpasses 5 million copies sold in under a month

Crimson Desert continues to show strong commercial performance, reaching another major milestone shortly after its previous success. Just two weeks after surpassing 4 million copies sold, the action game from Pearl Abyss has now crossed the 5 million mark, as confirmed by the official game account on X.

The South Korean developer noted that Crimson Desert launched on March 19 across PC, Mac, and consoles, meaning the milestone was achieved in less than a month. Sales momentum remains impressive, with 3 million units already sold within the first week.

Alongside its strong performance, the team has been actively addressing launch issues. At release, the game lacked support for Intel Arc GPUs, leading the developers to recommend refunds for affected users. Recently, however, compatibility has been resolved with updated drivers, and official support for XeSS 3.0 Frame Generation has been added. Despite these improvements, some players continue to report visual artifacts, indicating that further optimization is still needed.

Last week, the developers also shared a detailed post launch roadmap outlining upcoming improvements. These include boss rematches with respawning enemies, a re blockading system where enemy factions attempt to reclaim liberated regions, and the addition of Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty modes. New skills are planned for playable characters Damiane and Oongka, inspired by Kliff’s abilities, along with a significantly expanded camp system featuring dedicated storage and utility options. Players can also expect new outfits, reworked Legacy gear, a toggle to hide back weapons, and additional pets, mounts, and armor.

Further updates will focus on improving distant rendering, UI readability, and expanding control customization for both controllers and keyboard and mouse. Ongoing optimization efforts for interface, controls, and draw distance are also in progress.

Given the game’s strong sales, a premium DLC release is possible in the future, although it has not been officially confirmed yet.

As a Reminder, Black Cat to join Marvel Rivals roster in Season 7.5 update.
