Cyberpunk 2077 May Be Getting Another DLC as Rumors Point to Xbox Games Showcase Reveal

Industry analysts and insiders believe CD Projekt RED could be preparing a new expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 despite previous statements that no additional DLC was planned.

According to a recent report from Erste Brokerage, CD Projekt currently has two unannounced gaming projects and one non-gaming project in advanced development. During the company's earnings presentation, CFO Piotr Nielubowicz stated:

«We have two unannounced gaming projects and one non-gaming project in an advanced stage of development. While they are not on the same scale as The Witcher 3 expansion, we plan to release them this year».

Erste Brokerage analysts speculate that one of those projects could be a new Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. They pointed to unusually high spending on the game's post-launch support, even years after the release of Phantom Liberty.

«With the Witcher 3 DLC already announced, we also expect announcements of expansions for Cyberpunk built on the older engine».

Another factor fueling speculation is the continued involvement of Virtuos, the studio responsible for many of Cyberpunk 2077's recent updates. Analysts have also highlighted reports suggesting that several actors from the game have recorded new voice lines in recent months.

Officially, however, CD Projekt RED continues to deny any plans for additional expansions. In March, the Cyberpunk 2077 X account stated:

«We are not planning any additional DLC or expansions. If anything changes, we will let you know!»

Interestingly, similar denials were made before the announcement of Songs of the Past for The Witcher 3, leading some fans to believe the studio may simply be keeping future plans under wraps until an official reveal.

If the rumors prove accurate, the new Cyberpunk 2077 content could be unveiled during the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase.

As a Reminder, Fortnite's New Season, Frenzied Harvest, Has Begun.
