Elder Scrolls 6 Returns to Classic RPG Style

Todd Howard says The Elder Scrolls 6 will bring back the traditional open-world RPG style that fans love and will run on a new version of the Creation Engine.

In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, Bethesda’s creative director Todd Howard explained that Elder Scrolls 6 returns to the type of games the studio is known for and will run on an updated version of the Creation Engine.

During the February 18 livestream, Howard admitted to host Greg Miller that Starfield and Fallout 76 were departures from the open-world RPGs fans expect from Bethesda. With Elder Scrolls 6, the studio appears to return to that «classic» style.

«In many ways, Fallout 76 and Starfield were a creative detour from the classic Elder Scrolls and Fallout, where you explore a world in a certain way», — Howard said.

«Now, as we work on Elder Scrolls 6, we are coming back to that classic style we’ve missed and know very well», — he added.

«We have a style of game we really enjoy and that people expect from us, and there is still plenty of innovation to be done. When you step into the world, you feel like you are experiencing it for the first time», «We are happy with where Elder Scrolls 6 is headed right now», — зазначив Говард.

Howard also mentioned that the studio has been actively updating its internal engine, which has powered previous games, to allow more possibilities for Elder Scrolls 6 and future projects.

«Over the past several years, we have been upgrading Creation Engine 2, which powers Starfield, to Creation Engine 3, which will power Elder Scrolls 6 and beyond», — сказав він.

Regarding the release date for the game, announced over six years ago, Howard remained cautious, saying the team is approaching a major milestone and development is going well, but it will still be a while yet before the RPG is completed.

As a Reminder, Today, NAVI secured a draw and a victory at DreamLeague Season 28.
