ENVY terminates contract with canezerra following Riot ban

Esports organization ENVY has announced the termination of its contract with VALORANT player Alex canezerra Bányász. Earlier, the player received a one-year ban for violating rules set by Riot Games.

Canezerra is prohibited from playing or streaming VALORANT during the suspension, which ultimately led to the contract termination.

The exact reason for the ban has not been officially disclosed. However, there is speculation that it may be related to behavior in ranked matches, as referenced in the player’s statement: “especially in ranked games I behaved immaturely, and this is a clear warning sign that I need to improve.” Canezerra stated that he intends to return to the professional VALORANT scene after serving his suspension.

Canezerra is considered one of the top emerging talents in the North American pro scene. However, he is currently unable to compete in the VALORANT Champions Tour, where ENVY have qualified, as he is still under 18 years old.

Recall that Roblox agreed to pay $12.5 million as part of a child safety settlement with the state of Nevada.
