The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has announced the provisional suspension of PlayTime player Oswaldo "DarkMago" Herrera and the team's coach Juan "Vintage" Angulo as part of an ongoing investigation into potential integrity violations.
The suspensions take effect immediately and will remain in place throughout the investigation. During this period, the following restrictions apply:
- DarkMago and Vintage are prohibited from participating, directly or indirectly, in the Esports World Cup 2026 and any events organized by ESIC member tournament operators.
- Vintage is additionally barred from performing coaching, managerial, strategic, or any other team or player support duties.
According to ESIC, the provisional measures follow an initial assessment of information related to alleged breaches of the organization's Anti-Corruption Code and Code of Conduct. The commission emphasized that these restrictions are precautionary in nature and are intended to protect the integrity of competitions, preserve evidence, and ensure a fair and impartial investigation. No final determination regarding the individuals' responsibility has been made at this time.
Both PlayTime representatives have been informed of the reasons for their suspensions, interviewed by ESIC officials, and given the opportunity to provide statements and supporting evidence. Any administrative or tournament-related decisions concerning their participation in the Esports World Cup 2026 will be announced separately by the Esports Foundation. To protect the rights of all parties involved, ESIC stated it will refrain from making further public comments until there is significant progress in the investigation.
