The Esports Foundation organization has announced the postponement of the Esports Nations Cup to November 2027. Originally, the competition was scheduled for November 10–15 in Riyadh.
The decision to postpone was made following an assessment of the situation in the region due to uncertainty and security instability. Earlier, for similar reasons and due to the conflict in Iran, another major tournament — the Esports World Cup 2026 — was also relocated from Riyadh to Paris.
Esports Foundation CEO Ralf Reichert noted that the decision was not taken lightly, but the organizers aim to hold the inaugural championship under proper and safe conditions, given the high level of interest from national partners, publishers, players, and the community.
Over the coming weeks, the organizers will contact all interested parties to provide clarification regarding:
- Revised competition calendar
- New qualification pathways
- Other organizational changes associated with the new timeline
The revised timeline implies conducting a new qualification process for participation in the tournament.
As a reminder, an S-tier CrossFire tournament kicks off in Paris as part of the Esports World Cup 2026 with a $2 million prize pool.
