Esports Player Bin Fined $22,000 for Refusing to Shake Fans’ Hands After Match

League of Legends top laner Chen “Bin” Zebin from Bilibili Gaming has received a significant financial penalty from the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) administration.

The incident occurred after Bilibili Gaming’s match against EDward Gaming on Wednesday, June 3, which ended in a dominant 3:0 victory for BLG. Following the match, the player failed to comply with mandatory contractual obligations by refusing to appear on stage for the traditional post-match fan greeting and “high-five” interaction.

According to the league’s statement, this action negatively impacted the atmosphere and audience experience.

An official LPL investigation concluded that Bilibili Gaming’s management failed to adequately supervise player conduct. As a result, the organization received a public reprimand and a fine of 50,000 yuan (approximately $7,300). The player himself was fined 150,000 yuan (around $22,000).

In addition to the financial penalties, Bin also faced public criticism and has been required to undergo mandatory disciplinary training focused on professional standards and audience respect.

As a reminder, Sloclap recently announced the release date for Rematch Season 4 and the Nations Cup tournament.
