Team Vitality's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang female squad continues to dominate the international scene. The team secured their second consecutive championship at the MLBB Women’s International tournament as part of the Esports World Cup 2025 and 2026. During the victory celebration, the community's attention was particularly drawn to the team's EXP Laner, Venny "Fumi" Lim, who proves by her own example that physical impairments are no barrier to professional success.
Fumi's introduction to MLBB happened in 2020 thanks to her younger sibling. Initially, she was interested in playing the support character Angela, but later found her true calling in the EXP Laner position. She never planned to become an esports athlete, starting her journey with casual streams on the Nimo TV platform. It was the support of her early viewers that motivated her to take the game more seriously.
After gaining experience with teams like GPX Basreng and Bigetron Era, Fumi and her roster joined the French esports organization Team Vitality in 2024, marking a new chapter in her career.
Behind the brilliant victories lie personal challenges. Fumi was born without a knee joint in one leg and uses a prosthetic. Professional esports requires constant travel to other countries, as well as interacting with organizers, fans, and opponents.
For Fumi, the main challenge was not the competitions themselves, but the fear of judgment from new people. Furthermore, long flights drain a lot of energy and sometimes cause physical pain. Despite these difficulties, the athlete never doubted her career choice because she genuinely loves the game. In her free time away from tournament pressure, she finds a creative outlet in makeup and photography.
Fumi realizes that her story can be a source of support for people who feel like outsiders. She emphasizes that neither gender nor physical attributes should define human potential.
"Physical limitations should never be a barrier to becoming the best version of yourself. Don’t let other people decide how far you can go. Believe in yourself, keep pushing forward, and never stop chasing your dreams," Fumi notes.
Having celebrated their EWC 2026 triumph in a traditional way for the French organization—eating a giant croissant—Team Vitality is already preparing for the next season. The team has set an ambitious goal: to win a third consecutive championship next year.
