From October 9 to 11, the Palais des Expos de Nice will host the EVO France 2026 esports tournament. This major regional event offers European players a chance to compete for substantial prize pools and direct qualifications for world championship tournaments.
The most anticipated discipline is Street Fighter 6, which has gathered 1,071 entrants, including renowned esports competitors AngryBird and Big Bird. The tournament features a €50,000 prize pool, with the winner taking home €20,000 and a slot at Capcom Cup 13. Tekken 8 will be equally prominent, boasting 963 registered players, a €43,000 prize pool, and a direct spot at the TWT Finals for the champion.
Among the exciting additions to the lineup is the new fighting game Marvel Tōkon Fighting Souls by Arc System Works, serving as an Arc World Tour qualifier. The main roster also features 2XKO, running its tournament as part of the 2XKO CS 2026 circuit, and Avatar Legends with a prize pool exceeding €28,000.
Additionally, EVO France 2026 will host main-stage events for Guilty Gear Strive, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves (as part of SWC 2026). For classic fighting game enthusiasts, side tournaments will include:
- King of Fighters XV
- Samurai Shodown
- Street Fighter III 3rd Strike
- Super Street Fighter II Turbo
- Vampire Savior
Fans can follow the action live on the official EVO channels. The main stream will focus on top-bracket matches for major titles, while pool stages will be broadcast on individual developers' channels (such as Capcom Fighters). Since EVO is owned by Sony, new game or character reveals remain possible during the broadcast, though on a smaller scale than at the main EVO event in the US.
