The Players editorial team continues to work on the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2023 media day. Our correspondent Sofiia Pikhalo interviewed the new captain of Ninjas in Pyjamas Alejandro Alex Massanet. He told us about the game he wants to build in the team, the potential of headtr1ck and the atmosphere in the team.
You have been playing for Movistar Riders since 2017, was it difficult to change the team and join NiP?
Yeah, of course, it was the hardest thing for me, because I have a lot of memories with my previous team, so ... Yeah, It was a hard decision from my side, but I took the best one.
How did your new team greet you, how is the atmosphere?
The atmosphere, I think it's pretty good, I see that guys are very happy and they are hardworking. The overall vibes are really good, we are so excited and looking for our game tomorrow.
How would you rate NiPs chances to win this tournament?
It's hard to put a number if we talk about chances. It's hard to say because we have a lack of practice. We didn't have enough time to prepare the game or prepare maps overall. I think it would be kind of difficult this time, on the tournament, so the expectations are to have fun and grab some experience we need. That's because we are a new team and we want to try to do our best, of course.
What will be your minimum goal, like the semi-finals?
No, I mean, it's hard to say. Even if we gonna win a game...I hope so, but our main goal is to do our best there.
What will be the NiP game based on your captaincy?
Good question. I like to play a structure, I like to play sometimes directly, sometimes kind of strategically, but overall I like my players to have some freedom to play the game, and to have fun when they are playing. So it is how it's gonna be, more or less.
Were there any differences between NiP and other teams where were you as a captain?
The main difference are players of course and the staff we have around us. Everything is new here. The difference I noticed the most is the players and the way they work.
Since I have already interviewed hedtr1ck and I’m from Ukrainian media as well, how would you rate headtr1ck’s performance and his play?
Danya, headtr1ck, sorry, I call by his name. Danya is doing an amazing job, he’s so young and he’s learning a lot of things. He’s a hard worker and I think he has great talent to be with the greatest. I’m having a lot of fun playing with him and I think he is having a great time with the team.
