The Esports Foundation has announced a partnership with legendary League of Legends player Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok.
The star mid laner of T1 has joined the foundation's ambassador program, where he will represent both the Esports World Cup and the Esports Nations Cup. The agreement is set to run through 2028.
As one of the leading faces of the Esports World Cup, the South Korean esports icon will join football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and chess grandmaster Magnus Carlsen as ambassadors for the event.
According to the Esports Foundation, Faker will represent the interests of professional players at the organization's international events, participate in media activities, athlete-focused initiatives, and leadership forums. His appointment is intended to ensure that the voice of the esports community is reflected in the continued development of the industry.
Previously, Valve proposed resolving Counter-Strike 2 draws with 1v1 duels, introducing a new initiative aimed at deciding tied matches.
