Square Enix has released a new trailer for Final Fantasy Resonance, this time putting the spotlight on the Warrior of Light, the iconic protagonist associated with the first Final Fantasy. In Resonance, the character will appear as one of the game's Visions and will be able to fight alongside the player's party.
The trailer, titled "Resonate with his Vision within the Sanctum of Light", explores the character's origins. According to the game's description, Resonance takes place in a world where the crystalline legacy was born. The land was once consumed by darkness after its four elemental Crystals lost their light.
“This world is unique, as it is where the crystalline legacy was formed. It was also for a time shrouded in darkness - its four elemental Crystals bereft of light. “That individual was the Warrior of Light, and it is with him you shall endeavor to forge a bond”, “ However, a lone individual endeavored to lift this caliginous veil - a stalwart champion foretold of in an ancient prophecy”
Final Fantasy Resonance is an HD-2D turn-based RPG featuring a strategic combat system. The game is scheduled to launch on October 22, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
The upcoming title will combine a dramatic story with voiced characters and cinematic cutscenes. Players will also be able to explore the world using Chocobos and airships, while their party can be strengthened with various Visions, which serve as echoes of iconic characters from across the Final Fantasy franchise.
