After a two-month break, the updated GIANTX roster returned to the LEC stage in their first match of the Summer Split against SK Gaming. Despite the defeat, the team's new AD Carry, Víctor "Flakked" Lirola, remains optimistic. According to him, his main goal in returning to the league is to prove to himself that he still has the necessary level of play, ambition, and motivation.
Commenting on the unsuccessful start to the season, Flakked noted that the team lacked specific preparation tailored for SK Gaming due to the start of the split and a drastic shift in the meta. The esports player named poor team macro, failed planning, and chaotic actions on the map as the main reasons for the loss. Separately, Lirola acknowledged his own mistakes, critically evaluating his performance in the first game, and emphasized that failing to contest objectives—specifically the dragon—was a key factor in the defeat.
To improve their results, GIANTX plans to shift their focus toward macro play. Flakked spoke positively about the team's current training process, contrasting it with his previous experience on Team Heretics, where preparation was often chaotic. Currently, GIANTX utilizes a clear structure for scrims: after matches, the players take a short break, then conduct individual reviews of laning mistakes, which concludes with a team-wide analysis of the macro game.
Regarding the intense LEC schedule, the player stated that he is ready for any pace. He is not bothered by having to play multiple matches a week, as he is entirely focused on his work.
Over his five years in the professional scene, the 25-year-old esports player has significantly changed his approach to the game. Flakked admits that the youthful naivety from his debut days with the star-studded G2 Esports roster is gone. Having endured a series of setbacks with his previous teams, he has learned to better understand himself and has optimized his workflow. Now, the player prioritizes practice efficiency over simply grinding out hours. He considers the current GIANTX roster to be very strong and is taking things as seriously as possible to capitalize on this opportunity.
Looking ahead, GIANTX is set to face off against Shifters and MKOI. Instead of making traditional jokes at his opponents' expense, Flakked emphasized the high stakes of the summer season. Because of the split's short format, every victory or defeat is critically important, so the team's only goal right now is to showcase high-quality gameplay and secure a win.
