Battlefield Studios has announced a limited time free access event for Battlefield 6, giving players on all platforms the opportunity to try the game at no cost for one week. The promotion will begin alongside a major content update on June 30, 2026, and will run until July 6.
Battlefield 6 had a strong launch in 2025, breaking its concurrent player record shortly after release. However, the game later faced criticism due to several gameplay and performance problems, which caused its average Steam user rating to drop to “Mixed.” With the upcoming June update, Battlefield Studios aims to fix many of these issues while bringing more players back to experience the changes.
To participate in the free event, some players will need to install Battlefield REDSEC.
The official announcement from the developers states:
«Requires Battlefield REDSEC on applicable platform (available separately) and all game updates».This also indicates that players will need the June 30 update installed to access the free trial.
The Battlefield 6 free trial will include:
- five game modes
- four maps, including the largest map in Battlefield 6, Railway to Golmud, the reimagined Cairo Bazaar, Tactical Obliteration, and more content.
