French esports production company One Trick Production (OTP) has shared a detailed overview of its financial performance, offering insight into how much revenue esports broadcasting can generate in France.
OTP reported that within 14 months of its founding in December 2020, it generated €2.2 million in revenue. Later, in 2022, this figure peaked at €4 million. Revenue then declined to €3 million in 2023, before rising again to €3.4 million in 2024, representing a 13.6% increase compared to the previous year.
The company’s largest expenses are external services, which amounted to €2 million in 2024—accounting for more than 60% of its revenue. These include payments to freelancers, technical services, studio rentals, and production tools. OTP relies heavily on external partners rather than handling everything in-house, allowing it to remain flexible.
OTP Financial Overview for 2024:
- Revenue: €3.4 million
- Salaries: €670,000
- Total payroll (approx.): €1 million
- External services expenses: €2 million
Despite these costs, OTP has been profitable since its inception. From its founding to its latest financial report, its total operating profit has exceeded €1 million.
OTP is currently a leading French-language broadcaster of League of Legends tournaments, covering events such as the EMEA Championship (LEC), the Korea Championship (LCK), and the World Championship (Worlds).
A key part of OTP’s business is working for other companies. In addition to its own broadcasts, the company generates revenue by producing esports events, talk shows, and other audiovisual content for third parties.
OTP noted that this has helped it maintain stable revenue regardless of the typical esports calendar.
As a reminder, Crimson Desert surpassed four million copies sold in less than two weeks.
