FURIA won the South American derby against 9z and secured a spot in the semifinals of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 CS2 tournament.
The Argentine side surprised everyone by winning the opening map 13-8, with the first half ending 9-3 in their favor. Mirage turned into a tense battle, but once the Brazilians switched to the CT side, they managed to stabilize their game and confidently closed out the map 13-9.
The decider was Overpass, where FURIA started on the defensive side and won the first half 9-3. The Brazilians then comfortably finished the job, taking the map 13-6 and the series 2-1.
This marks only the second Major semifinal appearance in FURIA's history. Their previous run came at the IEM Rio Major 2022. This time, the Brazilian squad will face Aurora in the semifinals on June 20.
IEM Cologne Major 2026 is taking place from June 2 to June 21 in Cologne, Germany. The tournament features a prize pool of $1.25 million.
