PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 has concluded. The tournament with a $1.25 million prize pool featured 16 teams, with FURIA claiming the championship title after defeating Nemiga 3:2 in the grand final.
NAVI Finished the Tournament in the Top 8
For NAVI, PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 was another tournament where the team managed to reach the playoffs but failed to advance to the later stages. The Ukrainians began their run with a 2:0 victory over G2, followed by a 2:0 win against FURIA. NAVI then lost to BetBoom — 0:2 and Vitality — 0:2, before defeating Spirit — 2:1 in their final Swiss Stage match, eliminating the Russian team from the tournament.
In the quarterfinals, NAVI faced Vitality once again. The Ukrainians took the first map, Cache — 13:5, but the French-European roster responded with wins on Mirage — 13:9 and Dust2 — 13:6. As a result, NAVI finished the tournament in 5th–8th place.
For the team, this continued a difficult run of results in the fall. At ESL Pro League Season 24, NAVI failed to reach the playoffs, finishing 9th–11th after losses to Vitality, Falcons, and PARIVISION. Before that, the team finished 7th–8th at StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026, while at BLAST Open Fall 2026 and Esports World Cup 2026 they were eliminated even earlier.
At the same time, NAVI secured several important victories in Bucharest, particularly against FURIA and Spirit. w0nderful also deserves a special mention, as before the end of the tournament he was among the leaders of PGL Masters Bucharest in terms of kill-to-death ratio, with a rating of 1.32.
FUT Esports — Strong Start and Quarterfinal Exit
FUT Esports were one of the standout teams of the Swiss Stage. The Turkish roster featuring Ukrainian dem0n finished the group stage with a perfect 3:0 record, defeating TYLOO, Liquid, and Vitality.
The match against Liquid was particularly impressive, with dem0n putting up outstanding statistics. The Ukrainian finished the series with a rating above 2.0 on both maps and became one of the key factors behind FUT’s victory.
In the quarterfinals, FUT faced Nemiga. The team lost Nuke — 11:13 and Dust2 — 9:13, finishing the tournament in 5th–8th place.
Despite the elimination, FUT’s performance can be considered successful: the team went through the Swiss Stage undefeated and only lost in the playoffs to Nemiga, who eventually reached the grand final.
G2 and r1nkle — A Disappointing Tournament
G2, featuring Ukrainian r1nkle, were one of the biggest disappointments of PGL Masters Bucharest 2026. The team lost all three matches of the Swiss Stage and finished the tournament in 15th–16th place.
In the first round, G2 lost to NAVI 0:2, before losing to Aurora by the same score. In the elimination match against DENDELE, the team managed to take Ancient in overtime — 16:14, but lost on Nuke 5:13 and Inferno 5:13.
For r1nkle, the tournament was also a difficult one. The Ukrainian was unable to help G2 advance from the group stage, although he showed strong individual performances in some matches. In the series against Aurora, he finished the first map with a 1.19 rating, but G2 still lost the match.
MOUZ Took Third Place
MOUZ continue to demonstrate consistent results at major tournaments. Recently, the young team has regularly reached the decisive stages, making it to semifinals and grand finals and confirming their status as one of the strongest rosters on the world scene.
At PGL Masters Bucharest 2026, MOUZ also reached the semifinals, where they lost to FURIA 1:2. After that, the team defeated Vitality — 2:0 in the third-place match and finished the tournament with the bronze medals.
This result became another confirmation of MOUZ’s consistency. Despite the young age of the roster, the team is already regularly competing for the highest places at prestigious tournaments. It is no surprise that after their performance in Bucharest, MOUZ are rightfully considered the No. 1 team in the world, producing results that match this status.
FURIA — PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 Champions
In the grand final, FURIA faced Nemiga. Both teams had a long road to the decisive match: they finished the Swiss Stage with a 3:2 record and then secured two playoff victories each.
Nemiga eliminated FUT 2:0 in the quarterfinals and then sensationally defeated Vitality 2:0 in the semifinals. FURIA first defeated BetBoom 2:0, before overcoming MOUZ 2:1 in a dramatic semifinal.
The final began with a surprise. Nemiga took their map Ancient with a 13:2 score, after which FURIA responded on Dust2 — 13:5. The teams then traded victories, with the score standing at 2:2 before the deciding map.
On the fifth map, FURIA managed to finish off their opponents and won 13:6. Thus, the Brazilian team won the grand final 3:2 and became the champions of PGL Masters Bucharest 2026.
The organizers also recognized Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis, who was named MVP of PGL Masters Bucharest 2026. The Latvian player was one of the key factors behind FURIA’s championship run, and his consistent performance throughout the tournament helped the team reach the final and defeat Nemiga in the decisive series.
After the tournament, YEKINDAR commented on his first career MVP award:
“My first MVP of my career. Age is not a problem. Here is another proof of that. Thank you all for the support.”
FURIA received $450,000 for the victory, while Nemiga earned $200,000 for second place.
As a reminder, a former Passion UA player accused the organization of financial misconduct: debts related to the Major, unpaid transfers, and the disappearance of the CEO.
