God of War Reveals Four More Cast Members

Amazon has expanded the cast of its live action adaptation of God of War by announcing four additional actors.

Cunningham and Austin are set as series regulars, whereas Chapple and Miller will appear in recurring roles.

They join previously announced cast members, including Ryan Hurst as Kratos and Callum Vinson as his son Atreus. The ensemble also features Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Danny Woodburn and Jeff Gulka as Brok and Sindri, and Ed Skrein as Baldur. Amazon recently shared a first look at the series as production officially began.

The show adapts the storyline of the two most recent games, following Kratos as he raises his ten year old son Atreus while confronting the gods of Norse mythology. According to the official logline, «Father and son Kratos and Atreus embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human.»

The project has already secured a two season order. Ronald D. Moore serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner under his Tall Ship Productions banner. The first two episodes will be directed by Frederick E.O. Toye. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios in association with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions.
