Grandmother streams VALORANT every day to raise money for her late daughter’s gravestone

A gaming grandmother known online as GrannyGamingz has announced her return to regular VALORANT streams. The main purpose of her broadcasts is to raise money for a gravestone for her daughter Brooke, who passed away in 2023.

GrannyGamingz’s YouTube channel currently has more than 3,000 subscribers and over 240 videos. Recently, she has been hosting long livestreams focused on climbing from Gold to Platinum rank in VALORANT. The channel gained increased attention after viewers learned the tragic story behind her return to streaming.

In a personal statement, GrannyGamingz shared that it was Brooke who originally inspired her to start streaming. Her daughter encouraged her mother to try content creation, believing that her unique personality would help her build an audience.

Brooke had battled serious illnesses for a long time and underwent a second kidney transplant in October 2022. Following further complications, she developed lymphoma and passed away in July 2023. GrannyGamingz has alleged possible medical negligence by the hospital, claiming that delays in examinations resulted in the cancer being diagnosed too late. However, these allegations have not been independently confirmed.

After losing her daughter, who had also been her longtime gaming partner, the woman believed she would never play VALORANT again. Nevertheless, she resumed streaming in November 2025 in Brooke’s memory. All money earned through Twitch is being placed into a separate savings account dedicated to the gravestone fund. At the same time, she hopes to secure legal assistance to begin a medical negligence lawsuit before July 2026.

As a reminder, the Esports Foundation has announced the Wildcard qualification rules for the Esports Nations Cup 2026.
