GTA 6 Will Feature an Advanced Character Sweat System

Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature an advanced sweating mechanic that changes how much characters perspire depending on their physical activity. Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier shared details about the system.

According to Schreier, Rockstar Games has developed a scripted mechanic that determines how much characters such as Jason and Lucia sweat based on their level of exertion. For example, someone dancing intensely at a nightclub will sweat more than a character simply walking around Vice City.

«They told me that they have a [scripted] system in the game that will make it so Lucia or Jason or whoever will exert different amounts of sweat depending on how much effort they're putting in. If they're dancing extra hard in the nightclub, they will sweat more than if they're not, which shows you the level of detail», — Schreier noted.

Although the mechanic is not a major gameplay feature, it highlights Rockstar's efforts to make the open world feel more realistic. GTA 6 takes place in the fictional state of Leonida, inspired by Florida, where heat, humidity, and nightlife make such a system particularly fitting.

The sweating mechanic will complement other features designed to make characters behave more naturally during activities such as dancing, racing, and kayaking. However, Rockstar has yet to explain how extensively the system will be used throughout the game or whether it will extend beyond the examples revealed so far.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19. Rockstar continues to focus on small details that could make its open world feel more alive and responsive to players' actions.
