The Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, cyber police, and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) carried out a joint operation to detain a group of hackers involved in stealing Roblox accounts. According to investigators, the criminals earned nearly 10 million UAH by reselling these accounts.
The stolen profiles were sold on Russian platforms, with payments accepted via cryptocurrency wallets. The group carried out the hacks as follows:
- Hackers used stolen cookie files, allowing them to bypass passwords and two-factor authentication.
- Using specialized software, the attackers checked over 610,000 accounts between October 2025 and January 2026.
- Priority was given to accounts with large amounts of virtual currency (Robux) or rare in-game items.
Law enforcement conducted 10 searches. During these operations, they seized computer equipment, bank cards, and significant amounts of cash — over €2,500 and nearly $35,000.
As a reminder, a TV series based on the game Atomfall is currently in development.
