Following G2’s victory over NAVI and qualification for the playoffs of IEM Cologne Major 2026 in CS2, G2 player Mykhailo “HeavyGod” Martynenko gave a brief interview to HLTV. He expressed his excitement about reaching the playoffs and stated that his team was significantly stronger than NAVI throughout the match.
“I’m very, very happy — I think we deserved it. I think we played much, much, much better than them. I don’t think they would have deserved the win if they had won, because we were simply the better team.
But I’m glad we closed it out because we really played as a team. We just threw away a lot of stupid, really stupid rounds. There were so many of them — 4v1s, 3v1s, 2v1s. But I’m happy that we got the job done, and that’s what matters most.”
IEM Cologne Major 2026 is taking place from June 2 to June 21 in Cologne, Germany. The tournament features a total prize pool of $1.25 million.
As previously reported, B1ad3 hinted that roster changes in NAVI could be considered ahead of next season.
