How to Complete a Motor and Battery Swap in Forza Horizon 6

Forza Horizon 6 includes a large number of short in-game challenges that players can complete by performing different activities. Finishing these tasks rewards Discover Japan points, which contribute to increasing your Explorer rank and unlocking various rewards. While some objectives simply require exploration, others are focused on vehicle customization and upgrades. One of these is the Motor and Battery Swap challenge found in the Car Upgrades category, which grants 10 Discover Japan points. However, many players report that the standard procedure does not always register the completion correctly. This guide explains the correct way to make it work.

Step-by-step Motor and Battery Swap process:

To perform this challenge, you must use a compatible electric car. Not every EV has access to the Motor and Battery Swap option under Body Kits and Conversions.

Confirmed working vehicles include:

Inside the Motor and Battery Swap menu, you will find different upgrade choices. The Honda e and Wuling Hongguang Mini EV both offer two options: a 235 horsepower motor priced at 20,000 CR and a 670 horsepower version costing 75,000 CR. After selecting one, confirm the purchase and install it through the upgrade menu.

The BMW iX xDrive50 also provides two swap options: a 670 horsepower motor for 75,000 CR and a top-tier 1893 horsepower upgrade costing 100,000 CR.

If you want the cheapest possible way to complete the challenge, the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is the best option because it has the lowest purchase price and the most affordable upgrade.

Once the installation is complete, simply leave the garage and return to open-world driving. A notification should appear confirming that you have completed the Car Upgrades Motor and Battery Swap challenge in the Discover Japan system. If you didn’t already own the upgraded vehicle, it will also be added to your collection and counted toward additional progression points.
