Crimson Desert features a huge variety of materials used for crafting new gear, as well as upgrading and refining it. One of these important resources is Brimstone. It can only be obtained from a single specific source, which we will describe in detail below.
Where to Find Brimstone in Crimson Desert
This material can only be obtained by defeating special enemies — Hexe Brimstoneback crabs. They are located in the Brimstone Springs area within the Demeniss region.
To find them on the map, look for Deadfire Mountain — it’s far to the north, directly above the second letter “E” in “Demeniss.”
How to Identify and Defeat the Enemy
Hexe Brimstoneback crabs disguise themselves as ordinary rocks around the sulfur springs. To spot them, look for a green rock with a stream of water shooting from the top of its shell. Once you strike it, the crab will reveal its true form.
Important: Make sure you have strong weapons and plenty of healing items. The main danger of these enemies is that they explode upon death. If your health is too low, the explosion can be fatal.
Also note that Brimstone itself is a gas that slowly damages you. To completely avoid its harmful effects, it’s recommended to obtain a Gas Mask, which grants immunity to toxic gases.
Drop Rate and Infinite Farming Method
After killing a Hexe Brimstoneback crab, you can loot 2 to 5 units of Brimstone. This resource is used, among other things, to craft Platinum Bars.
If you need large amounts of Brimstone, you can farm it almost infinitely using a simple trick:
- Clear the Brimstone Springs area of crabs
- Use the teleport to Abyss Nexus located in the center of the springs
- Teleporting instantly resets the area, causing all enemies to respawn
- Repeat the process until you gather the desired amount of material
As a reminder, the announcement of Metro 2039 will take place on April 16.
