The Claw is a unique fishing rod that automatically reels in fish, making fishing much easier. There are two ways to obtain it:
1. Steal it at Bounty’s Net
Step-by-step:
- Equip a mask: You must wear a mask to be able to steal.
- Find the fisherman: Head to Bounty’s Net, a hidden pier southwest of the Spire of Insight. Look to the right side of the dock — one fisherman is using a slightly different-looking rod. That’s The Claw.
- Make him drop it: Kick or shove the fisherman to make him lose balance and drop the rod.
The problem: Since he stands right next to the water, the rod often falls into the sea where you can’t pick it up.
Workaround method:
- Kick the fisherman so he drops the rod
- If it falls into the water — step back
- The fisherman will pick it up again
- Repeat until the rod falls onto solid ground
- Steal it and run
- Escape properly: You won’t be wanted if you leave the red detection zone before the timer runs out.
2. Get it from Patrigio (Secret Shop)
Patrigio is a traveling merchant from the Secret Shop.
Where to find him:
- Appears near Howling Hill Camp
- Time: 00:00–03:00 (in-game night)
- Requirement: Complete Chapter 3 of the main story
Possible spawn locations:
- Inside the camp (near Ross the dispatcher)
- On the narrow road behind the camp toward Hernand
- Near Goldleaf Trading Post
Helpful tip:
Rest at a bed or campfire until just before midnight. At 00:00, leave the camp, turn left, and go down the steep mountain path — you’ll likely encounter him along the way.
How to get The Claw:
- Increase Patrigio’s trust to 100
- Give him 20 Copper Pouches (value doesn’t matter)
- These can be looted from enemies
Once you reach max trust, he will reward you with The Claw.
