As you make progress in Arknights Endfield, the game gradually introduces more complex materials to collect and process. Once Amethyst is unlocked, Ferrium becomes the next important resource. It is essential for crafting blue tier equipment for Operators, as well as higher level items that can be sold at your outposts.
Below is a breakdown of where Ferrium Ore can be found and what is needed to begin extracting it.
Locations of Ferrium Ore in Arknights Endfield
Ferrium Ore is most commonly found within the Originium Science Park area and in zones unlocked later in the game. There is also a single deposit located in the northern part of The Hub. Access to Originium Science Park is tied to story progression, so continuing through the main campaign will eventually unlock it. Visually, Ferrium Ore appears as blue colored rock formations, and its mining nodes are identical in shape to those used for Originium and Amethyst.
Mining Ferrium Ore
While loose rocks can be destroyed using weapons, proper Ferrium deposits require specialized equipment. To extract them, players must use an Electric Mining Rig Mk II. This device becomes available after researching Mining III within the AIC Plan and is an improved version of the standard mining rig. Mining III sits at the very end of the basic research tree, meaning steady advancement through the story is necessary to unlock it.
Before setting up mining operations at Originium Science Park, it is important to complete the Outpost Infra Station mission. Doing so unlocks the Infra Station outpost, which makes it much easier to supply electricity to nearby mining facilities.
Once Mining III is unlocked, players receive three Mining Rigs to begin extracting Ferrium Ore. To deploy them, locate a Mining Bed and place the rig along with an Electric Pylon and a Relay Tower, ensuring everything is properly connected to the outpost’s power network.
To craft an additional Electric Mining Rig Mk II, the following materials are required:
- Portable Originium Rig x1
- Ferrium Part x10
Since Ferrium Parts are needed to create more rigs, it is recommended to use the initial free rigs exclusively for mining Ferrium Ore. Afterward, the ore can be refined into Ferrium and further processed into materials such as Ferrium Parts and Ferrium Components, using the same crafting blueprints that apply to Amethyst.
