The Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex is a rare mount in Crimson Desert that can be obtained by defeating a specific boss. This enemy, Moren the Mistwood Huntmaster, can be found in the Wayward Woods region of Pailune. After taking him down, players receive a special item that can be converted into a token by any witch in the game. Using that token grants access to the Ibex as a summonable mount.
Steps to Obtain the Ibex Mount
At the moment, it is unclear whether Moren can be encountered simply by visiting the marked area. In GameRant’s case, he appeared after completing a series of faction quests in Pailune. If the boss does not spawn, you should first complete the following requirements:
- Complete all standard missions for the Pailune Militia, a total of 15 quests
- Unlock the White Bear mount
- Finish the Soul Shepherd questline for the Skoghorn Tribe
After completing these objectives, the Longleaf Tribe faction should become visible in the Journal under Pailune. Check if the Sport Hunter quest is unlocked. If it is still missing, head to Longleaf Village in the Silver Wolf Mountain area and check again afterward.
Fighting Moren
Moren can be a challenging opponent. He fights as a mounted archer atop the Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex, and the surrounding area is occupied by his fellow hunters, who may interfere during the encounter. He patrols within the quest marker zone and is relatively easy to spot due to the size of his mount. Alternatively, you can track him by using your lantern and following the glowing yellow trails.
A reliable strategy is to use Nature’s Snare along with the Nature’s Retribution ability. Activate Focus mode and wait for Moren to prepare a shot. Once he fires, use Nature’s Grasp to block the incoming arrows, then immediately counter with Nature’s Retribution to reflect the projectiles back at him. Repeat this sequence until he is defeated.
Keep in mind that Moren has two health bars. After the first one is depleted, he will vanish in a cloud of smoke. When that happens, return to the marked location and search for him again to continue the fight.
Unlocking the Mount
After defeating Moren, visit any witch’s hut and interact with the NPC there. Choose the Craft Abyss Gear option, then navigate to the Special Items tab. Here, you can craft the Sigil of Solidarity using the Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex Horn obtained from the boss. Once crafted, use the item from your inventory to unlock the mount.
