HUNGER has launched a closed playtest on Steam

GFC has launched the first closed beta for HUNGER, a dark PvPvE extraction RPG set in an alternate version of Napoleonic-era Europe devastated by a mysterious plague.

Players will embark on dangerous expeditions, explore forests, villages, monasteries and mines, gather resources and try to extract with their loot alive. Along the way, they will face both terrifying creatures and other players. Combat features both firearms and melee weapons, while characters can be developed through skills and a progression system.

Players can enter raids solo or in teams of up to three.

The closed beta started on October 19 and will run until October 26. Players who participated in previous Tech Tests received access automatically, while others can request access through Steam, with the developers gradually inviting new participants.

The developers originally planned to move directly to an Open Beta, but due to greater-than-expected interest, they decided to conduct a larger closed beta first to test servers and infrastructure. The Open Beta will take place at a later date, with its launch date to be announced after the current testing period.
