Infinity Ward has confirmed the return of the popular DMZ extraction mode, which will serve as the third major pillar of the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The developers have incorporated lessons learned from the mode’s first iteration in Modern Warfare II (2022) and significantly expanded the gameplay experience. The shooter is scheduled for release on October 23.
The biggest addition is a brand-new map called Hajin, which is larger than Al Mazrah. DMZ will also feature a dynamic weather system that directly affects the conditions and flow of each deployment.
Players will be able to choose between three different mission formats, each designed for a distinct playstyle:
- Story Missions: Focused on narrative progression and set around key points of interest across the map. The matchmaking system will group together players who have the same objectives, while leaving them free to either cooperate or eliminate their competition.
- Dynamic Ops: A mode built around randomly assigned objectives that appear after deployment. These missions typically revolve around specific tasks, such as stealing intelligence from a building and successfully extracting it.
- Free Roam: A sandbox-style mode that offers complete freedom. Players can focus on looting, hunting other operators, or intentionally disrupting the story missions of rival squads.
As a reminder, Nigma Galaxy recently parted ways with Denis Bogushev and Tony Assaf from its Dota 2 roster.
