Interesting Pragmata Fact: Diana Was Created With the Help of an All Female Team

A recent interview with Pragmata producer revealed that Capcom created a dedicated team during development that focused entirely on shaping the character of Diana. Internally called the “Diana Police,” the group was responsible for ensuring that the android character kept her intended innocence, personality, and natural behavior throughout the game.

Capcom’s sci fi action adventure title has become one of the biggest releases of 2026. Pragmata has received praise from players and critics for its unique gameplay, puzzle mechanics, and story centered around engineer Hugh Williams and the android Diana. The game reached one million copies sold just days after launch and surpassed two million units only two weeks later.

During a Father’s Day themed livestream, Pragmata producer Naoto Oyama shared new details about the team behind Diana’s creation. According to Oyama, Capcom had an internal group known as the “Diana Police” that monitored the character’s personality, actions, and overall portrayal.

The entire team consisted of women from the Pragmata development staff. Capcom explained that this approach helped the developers better represent how a female character might naturally behave and respond in different situations. Nao Toyama, the Japanese voice actress for Diana, also revealed that she was instructed to “speak like a child would naturally speak.”

The effort put into making Diana feel authentic appears to have paid off, as the character has become one of the key reasons behind Pragmata’s popularity. The game became the best selling title in the United States in April 2026, surpassing releases such as Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Mouse: P.I. For Hire. Diana has also remained a major part of Capcom’s marketing campaign, with several official social media posts written as if they came directly from the character.

Pragmata’s early success has already led to discussions about a possible sequel. Director Yonghee Cho and producer Naoto Oyama both expressed personal interest in creating another game in the series, although they confirmed there are currently no official plans for a second title. Cho said he would “love to see one” happen in the future.

Capcom has continued its strong momentum in recent years with several major releases. Resident Evil Requiem became another huge success for the company, selling more than five million copies within five days and becoming the fastest selling entry in the franchise. The studio is also expanding other popular series, including Street Fighter 6 and the upcoming return of Onimusha with Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Pragmata has now become another major achievement for Capcom, adding to the company’s recent streak of successful projects.
