Developer Behaviour Interactive has officially announced the arrival of Jason Voorhees, the iconic serial killer from the Friday the 13th franchise, to the multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight. The new killer’s release is part of the celebration leading up to the game’s 10th anniversary.
Jason Voorhees is one of the most recognizable horror characters in cinema history, with a legacy spanning more than 45 years. His signature hockey mask has become an enduring symbol of the horror genre, instantly recognizable to audiences worldwide despite the mixed reception of some entries in the film series. Jason will officially arrive in the game on June 16, 2026.
Over the past decade, the developers have consistently expanded the game’s roster of killers through themed events and major crossover collaborations. In terms of licensed crossover characters, Jason will join an extensive lineup of famous antagonists, including:
- The Xenomorph from Alien
- Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street
- Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
- Amanda Young from Saw
- Chucky
- Killers and characters from Tokyo Ghoul, Resident Evil, and Stranger Things
