The developers of Marvel Rivals have confirmed that Jubilee will join the game as the newest hero in Season 9.
The update will also introduce a major rework for Black Widow, fundamentally changing her gameplay and significantly improving her effectiveness in matches.
Jubilee
Jubilee will join the roster as a Strategist, serving as a support-focused healer.
Her primary fire functions like a rapid-fire weapon, simultaneously restoring health to allies while dealing sustained damage to enemies.
Jubilee's ultimate ability creates a healing field that periodically emits shockwaves, knocking back enemies caught within its radius. This allows teams to control space more effectively and gain the upper hand during intense objective fights, whether contesting capture points or escort missions.
Black Widow Rework
Black Widow has long been considered one of the weakest Duelists in the game. According to the developers, balancing her one-shot sniper mechanics against the rest of the roster proved difficult, leading to a complete redesign focused on aggressive, high-mobility flanking gameplay.
The key changes include:
- Primary Weapon: Her sniper rifle has been replaced with a DMR-style rifle, while hip-fire now deals rapid burst damage.
- Standard Abilities: Her former ultimate ability has been reworked into a regular skill.
- New Ultimate: Black Widow temporarily regains her sniper rifle, loaded with six armor-piercing rounds. The shots deal massive damage but are intentionally balanced so that even a critical hit cannot eliminate an opponent in a single shot.
The addition of Jubilee and the complete overhaul of Black Widow will serve as the centerpiece of Marvel Rivals Season 9. Beyond the hero updates, the developers have also fully redesigned the game's Team-Up system, making the upcoming patch the largest update in the history of Marvel Rivals.
