Japanese company Konami has officially shut down its server-based online services in Russia and Belarus. Starting June 15, access to all online services requiring KONAMI ID authentication has been fully blocked for users in these countries.
The restrictions affect the following titles:
- Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
- eFootball
- Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links
- Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel
The publisher did not provide a detailed explanation for the decision. However, it is worth noting that following the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Konami had already stopped selling its games in Russia.
According to reports from Russian users on Steam, game servers are currently unavailable, with systems displaying maintenance notifications. Changing account regions does not bypass the restriction, as the block is implemented via IP-based filtering.
As a reminder, Electronic Arts has launched a new EA Advertising division for large-scale in-game advertising integration.
