Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok to Become the First Esports Player to Receive His Own Commemorative Stamp in South Korea

The legendary midlaner of the League of Legends team T1, Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, will make history as the first esports athlete to be featured on a South Korean commemorative stamp. The official release of the collection by Korea Post will take place on October 23.

The total print run will consist of 140,000 stamp sheets and 40,000 commemorative albums, which will be available for purchase at the country's post offices and the Korea Post online store. The collection is presented in two designs reflecting different stages of the player's career: "The Beginning of a Legend" covers his early achievements from 2013–2016, and "More Than a Legend, a Myth" is dedicated to his outstanding victories in 2023–2025.

The stamps also feature in-game champion skins that symbolize Faker's key triumphs:

Ahead of the collection's release, on October 10, a thematic exhibition opened at the Stamp Museum of the Seoul Central Post Office, which will run until January 31, 2027. Faker personally attended the grand opening ceremony on October 21. The exhibition features memorabilia, autographed items, videos of championship matches, and interactive zones dedicated to League of Legends.

During the ceremony, Faker admitted that at the beginning of his career, he could not have even imagined such recognition. He expressed his gratitude and noted that he feels a great sense of responsibility. As reported by Korea Post representative Park In-hwan, the esports player hopes that this stamp will help people share warmth with one another, just as he strives to give hope to his fans through esports.

Korea Post representatives emphasize that issuing commemorative stamps in honor of living people is a great rarity. Over his career, which began in 2013, Faker has consistently represented the T1 team and has won six World Championship titles, ten LCK cups, and two Mid-Season Invitational trophies. This event serves as yet another historic recognition of the player, following his achievement in January 2026 when he became the first esports athlete to receive the Cheongryong Medal—South Korea's highest sports award.
