LEGO to release massive Sandworm set based on the Dune universe

Information about a new large-scale LEGO set inspired by the iconic Sandworm from the Dune universe has reportedly surfaced online. According to insider BrickTapNews on X, this will be the second official set in the franchise following the previously released Atreides Royal Ornithopter model, which featured 1,369 pieces.

The upcoming release is expected to become the largest Dune-themed LEGO set to date. Reports suggest that the construction set will contain 1,837 pieces and carry a retail price of approximately $140. Its official launch is reportedly scheduled for January 1, 2027, shortly after the theatrical release of Dune: Part Three.

The final design of the set has not yet been revealed, and it remains unclear whether it will include a minifigure of a Sandworm rider. The leak emerged as part of a broader wave of information regarding future LEGO releases, which also reportedly includes sets based on Pokémon, an Oliphaunt from The Lord of the Rings, and Buddy from Elf.
