Letitia James, Who Filed a Lawsuit Against Valve, Is Now Under Investigation Herself

The head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), Bill Pulte, appointed by the Trump administration, has submitted new criminal referrals to prosecutors calling for an investigation into the actions of New York State Attorney General Letitia James.

James is suspected of mortgage insurance fraud. It is alleged that she may have provided false information in applications related to property insurance.

Pulte claims that James misrepresented the usage status of certain real estate properties—for example, allegedly listing investment properties as primary residences in order to obtain more favorable terms.

Letitia James has long been an opponent of Donald Trump. She previously led a civil fraud case against him in New York, which resulted in substantial financial penalties.

Earlier, Letitia James filed a lawsuit against Valve Corporation, accusing the company of “illegally promoting gambling among children and teenagers” through loot box mechanics in popular video games. Among the titles highlighted by regulators were Counter-Strike 2, Team Fortress 2, and Dota 2.
