The shooter Marvel Rivals features a well-designed ranked system that allows players to compete on equal footing and gradually climb the competitive ladder. The system covers nine main ranks—from the entry-level "Bronze" to the absolute peak of skill known as "One Above All."
The Marvel Rivals ranking system consists of 9 major ranks, totaling 23 tiers:
- Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Grandmaster, and Celestial — each of these ranks is divided into three internal tiers (from III to I, with I being the highest).
- Eternity and One Above All — the two highest elite ranks, which do not have tier divisions. Here, players compete directly for points on the global leaderboard.
To ensure fair play, ranked mode enforces party queuing restrictions. Players in the lower and mid-level ranks enjoy more flexibility and can easily team up with friends of a similar skill level.
However, at higher ranks, the restrictions become significantly stricter to prevent artificial matchmaking imbalances. These limits apply exclusively to the ranked format—there are no restrictions in Quick Match, Arcade, or custom lobbies.
According to statistical data from the RivalsTracker platform, the majority of active PC players are at the beginning of their climb. The Bronze 3 rank is the most populated, accounting for 18.14% of the entire player base. Meanwhile, the highest rank, One Above All, has been conquered only by the absolute best—currently held by just 0.09% of players (fewer than 900 people worldwide).
To advance to the next tier, a player must earn 100 points, which are awarded for match victories. Losses, conversely, result in a loss of points and can lower one's current rank.
With the start of each new season, the system adjusts player standings. The initial seasonal starting point depends on the results of the previous season, after which users must complete 10 placement matches to receive their current starting rank.
