According to The Hollywood Reporter, a film adaptation of the popular Battlefield video game franchise by Electronic Arts is currently being planned.
It is reported that Christopher McQuarrie, known for leading the Mission: Impossible series, will serve as the writer, director, and producer of the upcoming adaptation. Michael B. Jordan, who recently won an Oscar for the film Sinners, is set to produce the movie and is also likely to take on the lead role.
At the moment, the project is in the active stage of searching for distributors. On Thursday and Friday, the creative duo began pitching the concept to executives at major Hollywood studios, including Apple and Sony Pictures. Since the rights to adapt the game are considered very expensive, it remains unclear whether streaming giant Netflix will join the bidding.
As a reminder, Valkyries Gaming recently secured bronze in the women’s division of UNBROKEN UA.
